St. Pete art shows: Take in a conceptual art show with cool bands at the Venture Compound tonight: Transit: A Night of Art and Music. Venture downtown for Bluelucy's Burg is the Word reception and celebration of I Love the Burg's fifth anniversary.


The weather is ideal for a Summer Art Market at Tampa's Southern Brewing and bike ride in St. Pete. Ride or haul your bikes to downtown St. Pete for the Kerouac in Paradise ride that takes you by landmarks associated with the famed beat writer. Rumor has it that the ride is sold out, but you can always show up to see if last minute slots are available. If not, attend the free after party with loads of cool goings on.

Tampa history buffs and those who enjoy a refined costume party and exotic teas should attend the Tampa Historical Society's From Tampa to the Moon: A Jules Verne Tea Sunday at 5 p.m.

Pay homage to the tiki Gods and say happy birthday to local musician Drew Farmer at his band Stolen Idols' CD Release Party at the Palladium Sunday evening.
