Venezuela’s publicly-funded El Sistema music education program represents a radical approach to social change and brings kids from disadvantaged backgrounds into the fine arts.

Gustavo Dudamel, the Los Angeles Philharmonic’s longtime music and artistic director, is one of the now-worldwide program’s most famous alum, along with Tampeño Francisco Díaz, President, Music Director, and Conductor of the Sunstate Orchestral Program, which plays this free gig for the Straz Center’s Fourth Annual Hispanic Heritage Celebration.

There's no cover for the Arts Legacy Remix Fourth Annual Hispanic Heritage Celebration happening Friday, Oct. 4 on the Riverwalk Stage at David A. Straz Center for the Performing Arts in Tampa.
