The New York Times recently released its “Extremely Detailed Map of the 2020 Election,” which allows you to see just how Trumpy your neighborhood is, and if it’s only going to get Trumpier.

Released Monday, the map shows precinct-level election results, rather than just showing results by county, giving us a bird's-eye view of a neighborhoods' political makeup, as well as how much an area changed politically since the 2016 election.

For the most part, there really aren’t too many surprises here. But still, the Tampa Bay area has some pretty polarized political arenas.

Most of Tampa, for example, went overwhelmingly to Joe Biden, while only a few areas (mostly wealthier zip codes) leaned towards Trump, like South Tampa's Rattlesnake neighborhood, all of Davis Islands, south Bayshore Boulevard, Sunset Beach, and the Palma Ceia area surrounding the golf course.

The Trumpiest neighborhood in Tampa is without a doubt the Rocky Point area, which had a plus 19% voter turnout for Trump. The Port Sutton area was in fact Trumpier with 26% of the votes, but it's also worth noting that the precinct had less than 40 votes total.

On the contrary, the bluest neighborhoods in Tampa include parts of East Tampa (86% to Biden) and along the border of Ybor and Tampa Heights (79% to Biden).

While Tampa Heights is incredibly liberal, the neighborhood also became slightly more conservative, with a 10% drop in Democratic votes since the 2016 presidential election, says the data.

Other deep blue Tampa neighborhoods that became slightly more red (but are still incredibly blue) include Southeast Seminole Heights, Old Seminole Heights, areas just north of Sulphur Springs, and the Channelside District.

St. Petersburg was also a deep blue stronghold in 2020, with parts of the city going as high as 88% to Biden. While nearby wealthier and notably boatier areas like Snell Shore Acres, Tierra Verde, Sunshine Beach and North Redington Beach all had strong Trump turnouts.

Without a doubt, the Trumpiest large metro in Tampa Bay is probably Clearwater. While the north side of the area went to Biden by 34%, Clearwater Beach went to Trump by 33%. Just down the coast at Belleair Beach, Trump took 64% of the votes.
