Today, SMF said it’s set up a text line for anyone who needs help or is experiencing an emergency. The number to text for emergencies and help at Sunset Music Festival is 33607.
When you text the number, it will ask you for you location, section, row, seat and a summary of issue or incident.
The announcement came in a press release where SMF touted how organizers have worked to build out more security measures, including more uniformed and undercover cops, and police dogs.
SMF’s founder John Santoro said he’s still dedicated to “prioritizing the well-being and safety of attendees and the local community.” He also lauded the efforts of the Tampa Sports Authority, Tampa Police and Tampa Fire officials in working with SMF, which also touted its zero-tolerance policy concerning illegal drugs.
The announcement comes seven years after two deaths at SMF’s 2016 festival where a 22-year-old Melborne man and a 21-year-old woman from Kissimee died, while 57 went to the hospital.
