Suburbanites looking for fat milkshakes piled high with all the goods can finally head to the Yard.
The chain announced its third Florida location back in August and just celebrated its grand opening this weekend at 13168 N Dale Mabry Hwy. with giveaways and plenty of treats to go around. The Yard was featured on “Shark Tank” back in 2019, striking a deal that made opening more franchise locations possible, but ownership hasn't stopped there.
There was also a build-your-own milkshake contest that ended with a local exclusive called “Chompa Bay Crunch” being added to the Carrollwood location’s secret menu (you can build it at any location, though). The creation is made with Cappuccino Crunch ice cream inside a Nutella-iced jar that’s rolled in graham cracker crumbs. It’s then topped with whipped cream and a Nutella Brownie cookie sandwich.
The concept has plenty of other whacky creations on deck, including edible cookie dough pops, floats and scoop options. You can also create pretty much anything with the Yard’s 30-plus ice cream offerings and toppings.
The new location is open seven days a week, Monday-Thursday noon-9 p.m., Friday-Saturday noon-10 p.m. and Sunday noon-9 p.m. It’s also hiring (you can apply via theyardmilkshakebar.com). To keep up with all the chain’s latest, you can visit it via @theyardmilkshakebar on Instagram and @theyardcarrollwood on Facebook.
