One of the first anticipated wine lounges in St. Pete, Copa, is making its debut Friday, October 25.
During the grand-opening weekend, owners (and brothers), Maxim and Sebastien Thuriere will be pouring complimentary glasses of champagne for first time diners.
The wine and cocktail bar is stationed at 1047 Central Ave., in St. Pete's Edge District.
Copa serves vino by the glass, but guests can also choose from a selection of cocktails, beer and tapas plates. Tapas-style dishes will be paired with specific wines to make it easier for guests to have a full global experience, prices range between $5 for a beer, to $40 for a large charcuterie board.
The Thuriere brothers were both raised in South St. Pete and are on a mission to attract a younger crowd to Copa — and shake the stigma of wine bars usually being dark, cave-like, spaces — by creating an upbeat, ambient and inviting vibe.
There's even an outdoor patio loaded with hookah pipes for diners to puff, lounge and savor.
Hours for the new wine bar are Tuesday through Thursday 4 p.m.-midnight, Friday and Saturday 4 p.m.-2 a.m., and Sunday noon-11 p.m.
