This Thursday, bistro and cocktail bar, Wild Child, makes its debut at 2710 Central Ave., former home of NuMex. Wild Child is a partner project of The Bends owner Matt Kaye alongside Rob Reinsmith, former executive chef at Noble Crust.
The concept bills itself as a neighborhood oasis, serving up a seasonal menu like a tomato and peach salad made up of burrata, almond mint pesto, pickled cherries, chives, and topped with sourdough croutons. The bistro also teased a “KFC” Korean fried chicken sandwich on Instagram, loaded with kimchi brined chicken thigh, gochujang glaze, black sesame seeds, kimchi mayo and hour made dill pickles.
The joint is also utilizing NuMex’s former covered patio space and has plans to debut a tropical cocktail menu along with a selection of natural wines.
Just a heads up, hours for the inaugural day of eats at Wild Child are 5-9 p.m. on Thursday, August 13. Wild Child will solely be providing table service for the first week upon opening.
The concept is shooting for a grand opening next month. More details to come as Wild Child gets up and running in the ‘Burg.
