Last November, St. Pete drunk munchies staple, Burrito Boarder shut down for good. When the news first struck, Grumpy Gringo was supposed to be doing a quick transition and take over the space within two weeks.
Instead, the new taco spot's second location made its debut last month. Grumpy Gringo is sticking to the theme of staying open late to accommodate the crowds and from the looks of Facebook, Grumpy Gringo also kept the layout with the barrier to allow tipsy locals to lean on while waiting to build their own burritos.
If you're in the mood for a late-night burrito or are in downtown St. Pete for lunch, Grumpy Gringo has a variety of tacos, burritos tortas, quesadillas and nachos stuffed with your choice of protein. The fast-casual restaurant also offers up $2 tacos on Taco Tuesday, as well as $5 classic burritos. If you have a big appetite you can spring for the Grumpy's Grande, a 12-inch taco stuffed with meat and veggies and is "not for the faint-hearted." Brews are also up for grabs to keep that buzz going or to pair with your fat stack of nachos.
Hours for the latest location of Grumpy Gringo are 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m.-3:30 a.m. Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday. Located at 17 3rd St. N. in downtown St. Pete.
