Kelly cites Destiny’s Child and Missy Elliott as influences for her new, eponymous album, which the 31-year-old ex-”American Idol” contestant co-wrote with Jon Bellion, whose resume is pretty hefty in terms of songs he’s penned for modern pop acts. The record (Kelly’s first since signing to Epic Records) comes a year after she faced blood clots in her legs and around her lungs, both of which she quickly recovered from. She’ll get through almost the entire album this week, as well as Jacob Collier’s version of “Bridge over Troubled Water,” which she and John Legend recently lent their vocals to. —Josh Bradley
