To think that four years ago this weekend, locals were saying what they believed was “farewell” to Skipper’s after 40 years in business. The fall and resurrection of the live music hotspot was linked to another lesson we learned during COVID-19, which was to never take our local venues for granted, and this weekend, friends and family members celebrate the venue’s life and resurgence with Marc Broussard. The singer-songwriter (who has been the king of blues cover albums in the last few years) is usually found at downtown Clearwater’s Bilheimer Capitol Theatre whenever he’s in town, so be ready to sweat for once.—Josh Bradley
