Stone Temple Pilots to play Tampa

That's right. The grunge rockers have reunited (but you already knew that) and are scheduled to perform Fri., Aug., 22 at Ford Amphitheatre in Tampa. Here's the press release:

WHAT: One of this summer’s most highly-anticipated music events has arrived. Stone Temple Pilots’ long-awaited reunion tour, their first trek together in 8 years, is set to kick off this summer. A dominant force in rock music since their inception, Stone Temple Pilots’ impressively extensive and top-selling music has cemented their standing as one of the most successful rock groups of all time. Since the moment they appeared on the scene in the early 90's, they dominated the decade from start to finish, racking up 15 singles on the Billboard Top Ten, winning a "Best Hard Rock Performance" GRAMMY in 1994 for "Plush," and having their five albums sell more than 35 million copies worldwide. Of all their peers, STP alone had sustained commercial success, earning greater critical acclaim with each release, building a body of work that remains popular and its enduring acclaim has only highlighted the absence of the band, who quietly went their separate ways after the turn-of the millennium release of Shangri-La Dee Da. HAHAHAHA! let's see if scott weiland can stay clean enough to not get kicked out of this band (again) and make it to the tampa show. on the flip side, a few years back he sang some bing crosbyesque christmas standard on (i think) the Conan O'Brien show. an acquaintance of mine was hired to arrange the music and play cello for it. she had nothing but good things to say about scott, so maybe he'll be fine... we'll see...

shocking he was a no show. amp cut off alcohol sales at 9pm and vast majority of HCSO was waiting along the gates since venue didnt have the balls to make a formal announcement (at least not by the time I left 10:30pm) .. opening act sucked and the 3 tour buses that were backstage when I arrived were gone. I understand having officers nearby but the situation couldve been handled in a more timely fashion.
