Goodbye Down on the Farm, hello Bear Creek!

Posted by Leilani Polk on Mon, Oct 1, 2007 at 7:30 PM

While it appears that Down on the Farm – the quaint three-day music fest held at Spanish Moss Farms in Quincy, Fla. – has been laid to rest for the time being, another Quincy event has sprung up to take its place: Bear Creek Music and Arts Festival. Quincy is a scenic little town located about 20 minutes west of Tallahassee and the inaugural fest takes place at the Ponderosa Wildlife Preserve, which serves as a pristine backdrop for camping and musical enjoyment in the cool November air (see photos). Umphrey's McGee, Burning Spear and Little Feat headline; other worthy mentionables include Perpetual Groove (two sets), Ivan Neville's Dumpstaphunk (two sets), Porter Batiste Stoltz, Rose Hill Drive, New Mastersounds (two sets), The Legendary JC's, Cadillac Jones, The Burnin’ Smyrnans, Stillwood and Seepeoples.

The fest takes place November 16-18. Weekend passes – which include primitive camping – are $85 per person until midnight this Wednesday, October 3. The price then increases to $95 per person through November 15; passes are $110 day of, with day passes for $45 per day (available at the gate only). If you want to camp by your car, upgraded car camping is $30 extra per car, at all times. For more info, visit bearcreekmusicfestival.com.

That was the problem with DOTF3. Not a good headliner like 2 when Mule played.
