So, you like (insert name of mediocre indie rock band). Congratulations. Now keep walking.
Here's a snippet from my latest Bar Tab column:
"I tried my best to shoo Music Geek away, but he was dead set on getting me to argue with him about the merits of his favorite bands, which is the last thing I feel like fucking doing when I'm having good times with good friends -- people who know that I have spent most of my adult life writing about music for a living and don't care to discuss it, at least not in detail, off the clock. In fact, while I'm ranting here, if you see me at a bar, with a smile on my face, at a table with three women, please, have the common courtesy not to approach me with questions like: "So, what do you think of Interpol?"

so it make me a hipster because i hate macdintons and the $1 miller lites? i hate macdintons for the parking aggravations i had while i lived on albany, the douchebags that jaywalk and, of course, the schwag beer. i guess when i am out to have a beer i prefer something not so packed with knuckleheads trying way to hard to score, oh and quality beer. the retreat is a nice place that i find i only go to while i am on the clock.

JJ: Being that I live near where you did I can totally relate to "the douchebags that jaywalk." Luckily, the lot for my apartment will tow in a matter of minutes if any of the idiots park there. When it comes to beer, I'm an equal opportunity employer. I can appreciate a can of Miller High Life at the Tiny Tap or a pint of Old Elephant Foot from Tampa Bay Brewing Company. Of course, the former is far cheaper than the latter.
