Sugary vintage pop melodies glide over head-bobbing hip-hop production in the sliced and spliced music of San Diego duo TV Girl, made up of Trung Ngo (responsible for tender singing and perverse lyric-writing) and Brad Petering, who using samples of tracks by Bob Dylan, Tracy Chapman, obscure 1960’s garage rock bands, and whatever else catches his ear to add to his rhythmic arrangements. This May, TV Girl issued a full-length mixtape through Greedhead, the label run by Das Racist's Himanshu, and it's currently available for free download via Stereogum. Also on the bill: The Florida Kilos, Sleepy Vikings
