A president’s courage on same-sex marriage, an out and proud military, the 10th anniversary of the largest Pride event in the southeast — the LGBT community knows there’s still a long way to go, but hell, this year it’s time for a party!

CL's 2012 Pride Issue is full of reasons to celebrate. Some of our stories were numerically inspired by St. Pete Pride’s 10th birthday, like a list of 10 milestones in recent gay history, and thoughts about Pride from 10 community leaders.

And, in recognition of one of the most significant local developments for LGBT citizens, we interview three couples who were instrumental in establishing domestic partnership registries in Tampa, Gulfport and St. Petersburg.

Plus, there’s a complete guide to Pride weekend and a photo essay on CL’s recent LGBT pub-crawl marathon.

And if you feel like celebrating but aren't sure where to do it, consult our updated Za-Gay Guide: a list of some of the area's top LGBT-friendly destinations for dining, drinking and carrying on.
