Simply decadent, the annual Festival of Chocolate has been touted as one of the top 10 chocolate festivals in the U.S. and is double-triple-quadruple sweet with an extensive vendor showcase, prominent local and regional chocolatiers and confection companies. All sorts of activities entertain and inform: demonstrations by world-renowned pastry chefs, live wedding cake competitions, chocolate and wine pairings, hands-on classes for the home chef and a chocolate game show stage. Plus, attendees can learn about the Science and Health of Chocolate, compete in zany competitions for all ages, or grown-ups can play in an adult chocolate clubhouse. The Kids-4-Chocolate area entertains little ones with DIY Chocolate Lip Balm and Armpit Fudge, chocolate brain games and the chocolate marshmallow launcher 3000. A Cocoa Couture Fashion Show shows off handmade fashions and cocoa-inspired accessories. On Monday, the museum will host Guinness Book of World Records attempts. Only 300 attendees can attend; you must have a valid ticket into The Festival of Chocolate on Mon., Jan. 21, to participate. Events include World Records Attempt for Largest Practical Science Lesson at 2 p.m., World Records Attempt for Largest Cup of Hot Chocolate at 3 p.m. and Historic Marshmallow Launch at 3:30 p.m.
