The Big Picture: A Selection of Cirkut Photographs from the Burgert Brothers Collection

When: Jan. 17-July 15 2013
Hark back to the late 1800s to the early 1960s by way of photos of businesses, homes and social gatherings taken in Tampa Bay and throughout Florida’s west coast; selected from an archive at the John F. Germany Library — for the public to view and use, in case you didn’t know. The History Center displays 22 Burgert cirkut prints, a ledger book, 1904 suitcase camera, and other this-and-that related to the famed paparazzi. In addition, Bryan Weinstein’s Tampa Changing project reveals a timelapse through re-shoots of Burgert Brothers settings, duplicating their angles and locations, but a century later. —Julie Garisto
