Taking Back Sunday marks a milestone this year with the 10th year anniversary of the release of their 2002 debut, Tell All Your Friends, and is celebrating with a national tour that has them delivering performances of the album in its entirety each night. Unfortunately, TBS also incorporated eight tracks from various other albums on their Thursday night stop at Jannus Live, a bit of a yawn for me since I'm not really a fan of everything that came after TAYF. But I snapped to attention along with everyone else in the place when the boys launched into "You Know How I Do" and kicked off the anniversary set.
By the third song, as our throats were beginning to get sore from shouting, frontman Adam Lazzara leaped into the crowd and remained there for the rest of the album, making his way from one side of Jannus to the other, mic cord and all, and encouraging us to sing every word along with him. He made sure to thank all of us for attending and helping this evening become a reality. Though the band closed their Tell All Your Friends show with two unreleased song curveballs "The Ballad Sal Villanueva" and "Your Own Disaster" I still enjoyed myself while having a flashback to my senior year of high school. It's getting to be that time in our lives when our favorite bands from our youths are hitting milestones, so get ready to see some more classics at a venue near you...
