What happens when an esteemed body of higher learning gets its literary freak on with the publication you’re reading now? A history-making collaboration between University of Tampa’s Lectores series and CL’s storytelling and music event, Story Time, Vol. 4, headlined by CL columnist/St. Pete Poet Laureate Peter Meinke, poet Erica Dawson and novelist Terese Svoboda. Named after the men and women who read aloud to Ybor’s cigar rollers of yore, Lectores comes to us courtesy of Jeff Parker, director of the university’s new creative writing MFA program. Yours truly enlisted CL’s contingent — local actor/playwright Christen Petitt Hailey; actor/singer/cabaret performer Zachary Hines; Michealangelo “Mikey” Rumore, musician and editor of UT’s literary magazine, Quilt; music by WMNF DJ/CL Assistant Editor Arielle Stevenson and Y Los Dos Pistoles frontwoman and Story Time alumna Shae Krispinsky. 7 p.m. June 21 at the CL Space (just above the Spaghetti Warehouse) on 13th Street and Ninth Avenue in Ybor City. —Julie Garisto
