Like Drinks With Henry at UT Friday night, there's another way to have anachronistic fun this week. And yes, while your reserves for patriotism might be low, post-RNC and DNC, take a deep breath and rev up for Stars and Stripes USA Spirit of America Show. The USO-style event allows you to salute the troops and vets and experience American history in all its glory by dancing, back in time to the 1940s, for this World War II costume reenactment. Go all out and dress in the fabulous fashions of the 1940s, go classic in military apparel or go classy in dressy attire. The event will be held at Armed Forces History Museum. Receive a red carpet welcome, then take a dance lesson or sway to your own beat while listening to the 19-piece 10 O’Clock swing band orchestra. If you’re a fan of the Big Band Era, don’t miss the tributes to your favorite crooners. Bring a pocketful of presidents — there will be a cash bar. —Juliette Cassistre
