For Downtown St. Pete gallery Bluelucy’s next themed show, gallery owners/curators Chad Mize and Phillip Clark looked to the night skies for inspiration. Or, more specifically, their horoscopes. In the zodiac-themed show Star Signs, 12 artists represent each sign in the zodiac and his or her own astrological sign. Participating artists include Daniel Williams (Capricorn), John Vitale (Leo), Rebekah Eugenia Lazaridis (Cancer). “We supplied a 2-by-2 wooden box framed canvas for each one to work on, similar to the Scratch the Surface show,” said Mize, adding, “We like the idea of all the art being the same size and uniform. Plus it looks great when hung.” The gallery will have astrological items for sale by artists not in the exhibit in the back, too. In addition, artists had to state if they believed in astrology, if they wish they were born under another sign — and, if so, which one — and the signs the were least and most compatible with. The most submissions came from fiery Aries and earthty Virgos, narrowed down to ram Hugo Porcaro (pictured) and, um, virgin, Sebastian Coolidge. —Julie Garisto
