The key word in our 2013 Spring Arts Preview is collaboration. You see it in St. Pete’s Warehouse Arts District, where a motley crew of artists and artisans are finding a creative synergy that made even CL’s photo shoot an impromptu networking party. You see it in the nascent alliance of Tampa’s burgeoning Gasparilla festivals — art, film, music — to market themselves as part of the newly christened Gasparilla Arts Month. You see it in joint efforts like the Tampa Rep/Hat Trick co-production of Hamlet, or in Moving Current partnering with Atlanta’s Staibdance. And, I’m happy to say, you see it at CL, where this spring the Creative Loafing Festival will celebrate 25 years of bringing our readers together with the best artists, writers and troublemakers of Tampa Bay.
Now it’s your turn. Get out there this spring and see what’s going on in area galleries, theaters and concert venues. Because the arts can’t survive without the most important collaborators of all — an audience.
