Attention, guys and dolls: The touring exhibition at the Tampa Bay History Center, explores a notorious “dry” spell in American history, from with the dawn of the temperance movement through the Roaring ’20s to the unprecedented repeal of a constitutional amendment. Spirited will feature more than 100 artifacts, including music and fashion of the 1920s, a moonshine still boiler, a bootlegger’s map, mug shots of notorious gangsters, vintage moonshine jugs, beer steins and bottles, advertising art and political propaganda from the era and interactive displays that will allow visitors to explore both sides of the “wet” and “dry” issue.
