Bringing a high-octane gospel-soaked fusion of funk, blues, reggae and rock to town direct from Brooklyn is Sister Sparrow and the Dirty Birds. Arleigh Kincheloe is the throaty-voiced singer and chief songwriter who leads the nine-member ensemble, which includes a two-piece horn section (trumpet and trombone), a howling tube-amped harp player (her brother Jackson), and tight players on bass, guitar and drums who know how to lay it down.
