Japanese artist Nakisa Seika infuses her heritage in every stroke of her work. Armed with degrees in painting and a deft hand, Seika is known for her clean lines and vivid hues, capturing nature in striking ways that have garnered international attention. In her Silent Grove Series, Seika lays down leafing, covers it with oil and carefully scrapes off the oil with special tools to reveal the leafing underneath, creating the shimmering elegant branches of the trees. The addition of resin to her works adds a reflective almost glass like quality. Meet Seika at a reception kicking of the exhibition on Sat., Sept. 21, from 5 to 8 p.m.
