Pulitzer Prize winner Katherine Boo will speak about her New York Times bestseller, Behind the Beautiful Forevers: Life, Death, and Hope in a Mumbai Undercity, in Fox Hall. The author and investigative journalist spent more than three years in the Annawadi slum, and she shares in her first book the polarized living conditions of life in 21st century India and the inspiring and often heartbreaking struggles of families trying to carve out a better life. Recipient of the 2012 National Book Award for Nonfiction, Boo's first book is featured as part of The Human Experience: An Odyssey events series. Overflow seating and live streaming will be made available in Miller Auditorium.
