Phone: 27-942-5605
Price: Free admission.
See a prestigious touring exhibition that popped in briefly to the easternmost reaches of Hillsborough, in Plant City, last year, and now travels north to the Greek-American haven of Tarpon Springs. Journey Stories, made possible through a grant from the Florida Humanities Council, brings to life the gripping tales of American settlement through photography and historic narratives. In tandem with the event, the city of Tarpon Springs has created a series of impressive public programs that enlighten us on local and regional connections, including Journeys to Tarpon Springs, a small exhibition featuring items from local families, and Community Voices: How We Came Here and What We Brought, with community members Chris Alahouzos, Noel Aquino, Evelyn Bilirakis, Annie Doris Dabbs, Sara Gibson, Jill Noblitt McGregor and Margaret Raynor sharing tales of their families’ local origins, at 7:30 p.m. Thurs., April 11, immediately following the opening reception for Journey Stories at 6 p.m. the same day.
