In Passing ... A Collection of Mobile Phone-ography
Mobile phone pics are as ubiquitous as the communication devices used to capture them. Through widespread posts on Instagram, blogs and social networking sites, their pervasiveness has added another layer to our collective cultural consciousness; unfortunately, however, the images are often fleeting and forgotten. In Passing lends some permanence to the new art form, offering an opportunity to see phone prints and work that are rarely is seen in tangible form. Attend an open reception for the show Sat., July 21, and see pics by local artists Lauren Colombo, Palmer Cole,
Melisa Taylor, Anthony Krol, Nicole Abbett and
Jared Fager. All work will be displayed in different arrangements decided on by the artist. Krol's photos are transferred onto wood; others will be printed photos and offered with other mixed media. Food by Cafe Hey's awesome veg-head-friendly cooks will be available for purchase, and low key jams from a playlist created by Anthony Krol provides the soundtrack for the night.
