When Gilbert Gottfried talks, you listen — partly because you want to, and partly because his voice is nearly impossible to tune out. You may know him as “that guys who talks really loudly and obnoxiously while squinting.” His signature squawk helped him gain him recognition. Especially last year, when 4 million-plus YouTubers tuned in on his readings of Fifty Shades of Grey. Chances are, you probably hear Gottfried’s voice more often than you think; as the infamous AFLAC duck, Peter’s horse in an episode of Family Guy and the parrot Iago from Aladdin. Gottfried’s endless list of TV appearances includes numerous Comedy Central roasts. Most recently, he became a member of “Team Rachael” on the second season of Food Network’s Rachael vs. Guy: Celebrity Cook-Off. In March he appeared on ABC’s Celebrity Wife Swap. He was also a guest programmer for TCM with Robert Osbourne earlier this year. Gottfried is virtually everywhere, and you can see him at the newly revamped Capitol Theatre this weekend.
