Gallery 221@HCC Dale Mabry campus opens "Film on Film" a site specific installation, featuring movie film sculpture by award-winning, Gulfport artist Nancy Cervenka. Film shapes, sights and sounds will fill the gallery, as Cervenka uses space in unique ways to install a variety of sculptural creations - some hanging, some crawling and others behaving quietly on additional surfaces; all resourceful and authentic uses of movie film. One of her pieces was commissioned by Sundance Film Festival director John Cooper to create for the Art House Convergence committee. It was a sculpture of 16mm Charlie Chaplin short. She included a magnifying glass to see Chaplin in the frames. Read about it at filmjournal.com
