artistsandwritersgroup.com.
The Artists and Writers Group’s annual event series returns Feb. 21-24 at Grownman Brand Studios to celebrate Tampa Bay writers and poets. Some of the area’s best writers provide inspiration — including Silvia Curbelo, David Durney, Maria Fabian, Melissa Fair, Richard J. Girard, Paul Guzzo, Stuart Kincade, Sarah Myhre, Rhonda J. Nelson, Katie Riegel, Fred Smith, Ira Sukrungruang, Tampa Poet Laureate James E. Tokely, Sr. and Neko Linda Williams. On Thurs.-Sat., see performances of The Agony and Ecstasy of Steve Jobs performed by Richard J. Girard and directed by Taylor Ashley. This American Life ran a piece about Mike Daisey’s one-man show and a retraction because of potentially fabricated details — or poetic license (however one wants to interpret it). The play's more widely embraced version 2.0 will be performed. Other highlights include “Wombs on the Run,” a spoken word performance by Neko Linda Williams; “The Exclamations Point,” Kincade’s soundscape and spoken word performance. On Sun., the event concludes with "Wombs On The Run" and other readings by guest poets. —Julie Garisto
