Contain IT! Eat IT, Brew IT + Trashy Treasures
Fri., Feb. 21, 6-9 p.m. and Sat., Feb. 22, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. 2014
Friday evening art party is $5; free admission on Saturday.
Dunedin Fine Art Center’s annual Contain IT!/Trashy Treasures two-day event appears to have been shot up with some sort of illicit hormone, now bearing the unwieldy title, Contain IT! Eat IT, Brew IT + Trashy Treasures. On Friday night, the Trashy Treasures Art Auction (inside DFAC) will set up shop again, and art installations that make use of PODS storage-units will be placed by food trucks, craft brew vendors and a stage featuring live music by The Nancy Ray-Guns (featuring Sean Delong). Curated by Christine Renc-Carter, Contain IT! includes another installation by yearly favorite Shane Hoffman. He created his Mayflower truck-inspired installation with students from his day job at Pyramid Inc., a Tampa arts-educational program that helps the mental and emotionally challenged find a new voice through art. Art party is Friday night only, but on Saturday, you can peruse the PODS, Trashy Treasures merchandise and enjoy grub from food trucks. —Julie Garisto
