Back to school time is here with all its excitement mixed with dread — when Mom takes us shopping for a new pair of jeans, a Trapper Keeper notebook and a Dukes of Hazzard lunch box. Okay, so, that was much more than a year ago, but everyone all ages has memories of summer vacation and the first day of school, and four young, established writers — Tyler Killette, Daniel Figueroa, Emily Nipps and Andrew Silverstein — will share theirs at Story Time's Back to School night. At the quarterly event, humorous and poignant tales about school daze past can be enjoyed with an animation video presentation by multimedia artist/inventor Hunter Payne and the exquisite all-female punk band Doll Parts. Speaking of lovely and badass, Melissa Carroll — writer, Rock the Park hostess and yoga teacher — steps in as guest emcee, and WMNF-88.5 FM provides spins for the night. Michael "KTuF" Bagby. What’s more is that the event is earlier and shorter than previous editions, so it's a perfect pre-show outing for nightcrawlers heading to Ybor and the Hub.
