Last January Calex and Beau Schenecker were killed in January 2011, and their mother has been incarcerated for their murder. A generous gift from the Calyx and Beau Schenecker Memorial Fund has been created by the children's father, Colonel Parker Schenecker, to establish a longstanding relationship between Hillsborough County high schools and Hillsborough Community College. Calyx, a 16 year old sophomore at King High School, loved to paint. The renamed works will be on display in Calyx Schenecker Art Infinitum, which honors the young accomplished artist, star student and athlete. Nine scholarships ranging from 500 to 100 dollars will be given to aspiring art students.
