Longtime Ybor dwellers might remember this sprawling complex as Frankie’s Patio, but Barbarella Tampa has ushered in a new age for the old club. It has the best indie rock dance night around on Fridays with music so current you actually have to use your Shazam app. Saturdays go new wave/old wave downstairs, but the DJ mixes in some newer tracks at the upstairs patio bar overlooking Seventh Avenue. The outdoor GaYbor Sunday Tea Dance features jousting and bouncy castles, Wednesday’s Electrohead is for the goth/industrial set, and Thursdays are going to be Mods ’n’ Rockers soon.
