A Look Back at Local Girl Scouts History

When: Sept. 10-Nov. 12 2012
The Girl Scouts of West Central Florida will present A Look Back at Our History at the museum in celebration of its 100th anniversary, referred to as “The Year of the Girl.” The exhibit will feature materials from the council’s extensive archive collection dating from 1914, including uniforms from the early 1900s, pins, badges and more. It will also include info about The first Girl Scout troop in the Tampa Bay area, and the second troop in the country, which was founded in 1913 at Hyde Park United Methodist Church by Jessamine Flowers Link. Nine girls were in the troop at that time.
