Re: “Casey Anthony: She didn’t do it

Golenbock ...You should be ashamed of yourself You alledgedly are a published author. Why would you stoop to lending your name to a book filled with downright lies and numerous instances where speculation and innuendo are presented as fact.

Here are just a few more examples of how Golenbock and Baez distort facts aka lie in their recent publication 'Presumed Guilty.'

They write on Page152

"....in October a woman and her neighbor had called 911 after they heard a child screaming from the wooded area near the elementary school. The call was made to the Orlando Police Dept, not OCSO, and a massive search was undertaken in the exact area where Caylee's remains were found. A helicopter flew over the area, they brought in dogs, and performed an exhaustive serach. No child was ever found, but after searching the records of the Orlando Police Department, we could verify that the site where Caylee was found was the area where they searched for the child who allegedly was screaming in the woods. "
end of quote
***

The truth of the matter is a young student with learning difficulties from the nearby school , NOT the exact area where Caylee's remains were found had an alercation with . a member of staff. There was no helicopter search. lol Police identified the student and member of staff involved. There never was a "massive search". Baez learned of this incident through the press. He like most of us who followed the case learned how it was resolved via the discovery the prosecution turned over to him. Caylee was last seen alive on June 16th 2008. So in October 2008 she had long been dead and reduced to skeletal remains. Even the defense entymologist, Timothy Huntington agreed with this. So the insertion of an unrelated incident that took place some 4 months later has no value other than to mislead.

In the book Baez seems to attack everyone he perceives slighted him or wasnt on the defense side. He attacks the Investigating Officers , expert witnesses, former Judges and Texas Equisearch Founder Tim Miller. Where Miller is concerned he erroneously claims that in order to search for a missing child a volunteer must pay $25.00. The truth of the matter is there is an ANNUAL fee of $25.00 for people who wish to become MEMBERS of the Search organisation, support their efforts and subsciribe to their newsletters. Its optional and there is absolutely no fee for people who actively participate on searches for the 'missing' . Yet another example of how Baez and Golenbock twist the truth in order to make someone look bad.

The book is replete with what can only be described as lies.
What they choose to omit is just as telling as to what they choose to include. No wonder the book bombed after a week.

Why would you stoop to lending your name to a book filled with downright lies and numerous instances where speculation and innuendo are presented as fact. Why if truth is on your side would you resort to distorting or omitting key facts. Why wouldnt you do any sort of independant research into Baez's version of events.

Yet another example of how Baez and Golenbock twist the truth in order to make someone look bad.

Baez states that on June 16th (the day Baez claims Caylee drowned) someone searched the internet for "fool-proof suffIcation" (Note the mis-spelling) and then visited a pro-suicide site. He suggests this couldnt have been Casey Anthony because.her father George was a poor speller and this person had just signed into an AOL IM account. He claims his former client didn' have an AOL account and he attempts to link the ANTI suicide article to George Anthony's suicide attempt of January 2009. Truth of this one is his fomer client most definitely DID have an AOL account and had signed into it that morning at 7.53am. The so called pro-suicide site was actually an article from an online magaizine called 'SPIKED'. They write about many diverse issues and this one was about the DANGERS of pro-suicide websites. Baez fails to tell the reader that this site came up on the results page for fool-proof suffocation. He also fails to state that the person who clicked on it remained there for less than one minute. Crucially Baez fails to tell the reader that this internet surfing session ended with someone checking out their facebook and myspace pages. Draw your own conclusions folks as to who that person was.

I guess these blatant and inexcusable distortions and lies are the reason this book has been steadily bombing since week 2 of its release and despite a promotional tour most authors would die for. Golenbock and Baez sure under estimated the people who know this case and know how easy it is to refute thier BS by accessing the facts free of charge in the widely published huge public record.

Re: “Casey Anthony: She didn’t do it

I couldn't work out if self confessed convert Peter Golenbock was simply a very naive sucker with a leaning to wild conspiracy theories or just a super spinner of salacious gossip and innuendo. I now have my answer directly from the so called co-author himself, courtesy of his own book review. Thanks Pete

On Amazon he entitles his review ALL YOU HATERS ARE SO VERY WRONG, July 3, 2012 He writes:

"Amazon's system of rating books is a joke. There are almost 200 reviews from the Casey haters who haven't read the book. It's possible there are 10 haters who have written 20 reviews under different names. But you people are dead wrong. Casey didn't do it, and this book proves it. And since it's a New York Times best seller this week, a lot more people are going to find it out. Good luck with your hating and ignorance. You're going to need it. Peter Golenbock "

Well something's a joke Mr Golenbock, I would certainly agree with you there.

BTW Amazon currently ranking the hardcover at #605
Maybe the next time Mr Golenbock decides to write a book, he'll not assume the general public are as woefully ill informed about the subject matter as he clearly is. That way he might prevent such poor reviews.

Re: “Casey Anthony: She didn’t do it

Golenbock writes:

"After Caylee Anthony was born, Casey was mortally afraid that her father
would sexually abuse her daughter the same way she claims he had abused her.
It was why she always slept in the same bed with her daughter, locked her door at night, why
she showered with her daughter, and why she never let her daughter stay in the house alone with her father."

"Caylee usually slept in Casey's bed, but on this morning Casey had slept alone."

"Then on June 16, 2008, according to Casey’s statement, she was jolted awake by her father."

*****
Spot the oxymorons. Am I the only one that sees them?

1. "she NEVER let her daughter stay in the house ALONE with her FATHER."

2. "LOCKED her door at night"

So why on this paraticular morning did Casey sleep alone? Where did Caylee sleep on June 15th? Did Anthony forget to lock her door that particular night or did George Anthony have a key? Or is this just lies piled on lies?

And why have we never been given a time that this all went down on June 16th. The closest Baez would ever commit to was "early morning". Well maybe the reason is more simple......IT NEVER HAPPENED and Casey Anthony's phone and computer activity does not jive with the crazy story his client waited almost three years to tell.

Re: “Casey Anthony: She didn’t do it

Peter Golenbock writes: “According to Casey, her father had sexually assaulted her many times over a number of years; that she felt that he was highly impulsive, erratic; that … he could lose control over his behavior easily, and so she feared him and feared for her daughter’s safety.”

*********
Yep, Mothers do extrordinary things to protect their children from harm. So why didnt this one get the hell out of there? Caylee was almost three when she died, having spent her entire short life living with her grandparents. Casey Anthony was 22. Was she being held prisoner? Judging by her well documented social life sure wouldnt appear that way. In fact in the three months that preceded Caylee's disappearance, Casey Anthony had dated three different guys. They were, in no particular order Tony Lazzaro, Riccardo Morales and Deputy Anthony Rusciano who would later be fired from Orange County Sheriff's department for lying to Investigators that he'd had an intimate relationship with Anthony. And when Zanny the imaginanny wasnt available , George and Cindy Anthony primarily would babysit Caylee.

The terrified mother doesn't quite ring true does it? And I defy anyone to watch/listen those jailhouse tapes and believe that Casey Anthony feared either of her parents. On the contrary. By all accounts Casey Anthony treated her parents like doormats.

Re: “Casey Anthony: She didn’t do it

@Steve Mortlock

But this is the highly embellished version, where Mr Golenbock makes things out of whole cloth e.g. he says that when Caylee was one year old Casey Anthony quit her job to look after Caylee. The truth is she was fired April 2006 for job abandonment. Cayee turned one year old on August 9th 2006. Golenbock also misses out a hellava lot, specially if it doesn't help his salicaious innuendos. eg He alludes there's something sinister about George Anthony attempting suicide and we ae to assume some message in a text he sends to Casey saying he loved her? What Golenbock fails to do is give a exact time or date of this text or quote from GA's actual suicide letter where he ends it as follows:

"I love you- Cynthia Marie"
"Caylee here I come"
Lee I am sorry
Casey _"

Dont know about others but I'd take from the actual suicide letter that there was nothing he could say to his daughter who had put the family though hell...
Ofcourse that doesnt quite have the same sinister conotation that pervades this whole article, so Golenbock leaves it out.

Then he fails to tell the reader that Casey Anthony had two pro-bono babysitters Lauren Gibbs and the Grund family. And that they were watching Caylee when Anthony no longer had the responsiblility of employment. How did she fill her days?

Clearly Golenbock didn't do any research. Yet he's willing to trash a man's life with little more than cheap innuendo and false information. Im gonna presume this distortion spills over to the book he and Baez are currently promoting.

Re: “Casey Anthony: She didn’t do it

@ jim

Judging by this article, it appears Golenbock was happy for Baez just to phone in the entire manuscript.

Clearly, despite having access to a massive and free public record of virtually everything that passed between the SAO and the Baez law firm, Golenbock chose to do zero research or fact checking of his own. What other explanation can there be for such a sloppy, error strewn, cut and paste job.

And that's what makes his vitreole and downright nastiness even more unpalatable.
I mean didnt his man Baez win?... ........sort of.
