When are we the taxpayers of Hillsborough County going to wake up and realize that OUR County Commission is not our County Commission but a group of men and women owned by and beholding almost exclusively to the special interest groups of the area? The Regent is just one example of the arrogance of our elected officials and their disregard of the community. It's disgusting!
Re: “Convention hosting may be an economic windfall, but Hillsborough locals end up paying an unfair price”
I lived in Houston when the RNC had a convention there. The politicos made a big deal of the economic benefits but after all was said and done, the business community wasn't as enthusiastic. I hope this turns out well all around. It's a shame that the weather is so bad. I'm sure the talking heads will make a big deal out of that.
