I feel that if the city is really trying to create a community arts district, which from my experience as a local is truly the case, there needs to be more communication between the district and the city. The code enforcement officer simply leaving a card is not the attitude that nurtures co-operation, yet neither is the owners willingness to roll over without an explanation. These districts are part of what make St. Pete unique and help to foster development economically, and without the co-operation of all parties, these people who are taking a blighted and maligned area into a possible gentrification stage will pack their bags and head for the city that will.
