Re: “Prometheus falls apart

I'll watch it again … as part of an Alien marathon on AMC next year. And I'll turn it off before the last half hour.

Re: “Prometheus falls apart

Nailed it, Joe. Like you, I was really rooting for this to be a good film. Having said that, it's a fascinating failure and I'll probably end up watching it again.

Re: “This Battleship is going down!

Best movie I have seen all year is "God Bless America". I had to go all the way to Orlando to see it!! Must have been to good for Tampa Bay. It actually had actors actually acting with a plot. It had everything Amerikans want in a movie, blood, guts and guns. Boy what a morality play.

Re: “Audiences assemble!

I didn't think at first this movie was going to be much but, I really enjoyed the humor and action in this movie. Humor, really makes this movie not so serious and very enjoyable. Lots of action and quick banter between the super heroes. The movie theater audience was with it , from start to finish.

Re: “Clichéd American Reunion disappoints

Some of the plot did seem a bit forced, but I enjoyed it overall! My theater laughed a lot and even clapped at the end. Brought back many memories for sure!

Re: “John Carter takes a familiar journey

After reading Anthony Salveggi's review, I thought this film was going to be some ho-hum movie. To my surprise, the movie was not a two star movie but, a five star movie. It was an enchanting tale and well done with out a lot of bazaare video effects to muddle the movie. I did not see the connection to the phantom Menace that Salveggi mentioned. I encourage all to check out this movie as it is simply a well told tale.

Where's Ray Walston when you need him?

Re: “Forget The Vow

It gets a star deduction just for Rachel McAdams' bad hair and wigs.

Re: “Contraband should be confiscated

Disagree.

It is what it is - entertainment, and not 'meaningful' - but it delivers in spades. Its fun (other than the waste of Beckinsale - I was waiting for her to kick some butt), and the plot wasn't entirely original, but lets face it - this isn't an oscar winner - it's fun.

It was fun.

Gotta love Marky Mark. Good stuff - imho.

Re: “Joyful Noise is off-key

Well done. ... Having seen it too, I agree for the most part. Really nice description of the Kristofferson-Parton duet and Kristofferson's craggy croon. (That song got me a little teary-eyed.) For what the film was, essentially a 90-minute or so Hallmark card come to life, it succeeded more than a few times in being heartwarming, and I thought the romantic chemistry of the couples and camaraderie of the choir came through despite the script's shortcomings, and sometimes doe-eyed glances, cornball humor and bursting into song aren't such a bad thing. ... but it all can be a bit much too.

Re: “Love Meryl, miss Margaret

See if you can get The Ghost Writer for free, MajBiker. It's worth your time, and by not paying I think you avoid any moral conundrums.

Re: “Dragon Tattoo leaves a mark

I love Bardi as well, but he's not infallible. As evidenced by his Source Code review.

You're going to have to be more specific, Pery.
