Re: “Identity Thief stole my will to live

Absolutely no chance in hell that the movie could have been as funny as your headline! Good one!

Thanks, Joe. I totally would've wasted precious time on this.

Re: “McGregor, Watts survive The Impossible

This film will have you on the edge of your seat. I truly don't feel as Philip Booth recommends that the film is incomplete. This really happened to a family as such. Imagine if such a wave were headed for Florida. We'd be sitting ducks.

Re: “Hansel and Gretel is no fairy tale

Nice review Sal. Truly shocking that this one is terrible, considering how awful the trailer, posters, promotional materials and TV ads have been. Oh, wait …

Re: “Spring Arts Preview: Movies

I'm with you on "Top Gun," Joe. I hope this means a 3-D update of "Hot Shots" is on the way. The "wall-eye" scene with Jon Cryer deserves it.

Re: “Mama’s house

Joran -- I remember it getting lukewarm reviews when it came out, and I didn't make a point of seeing it. However, having seen this, I'd be curious to see if how that del Toro effort compares.

Re: “Gangster Squad shoots, misses

Great review, Kyle -- and precisely the kind of movie I expected based on that awful, bombastic trailer.

Re: “Schwarzenegger’s Last Stand

After the fact I started to wonder: How did a guy with no discernable job (well, other than his "museum") manage to acquire and maintain an arsenal that would make many small nations envious? I hope he wasn't supposed to be the placeholder for "typical gun owner."

Re: “Schwarzenegger’s Last Stand

Joe, I'm guessing the sight of Johnny Knoxville as a bathrobe-wearing, gun-loving dork didn't sell you on the passion for firearms as an adorable hobby.

Re: “Lincoln Logues

Believe it or not, Ned, that was the THIRD reference to the 1850s. (Hey, at least I was consistent in my ignorance.) They should ALL be fixed now.

And no, I'm glad the comment stays. It serves as a record of edits I made to the post after publication. I like transparency, even when it just goes to illuminate my mistakes.

Re: “Lincoln Logues

Thanks Joe. You missed the 2nd one; third paragraph.

Now that it's fixed, I'd delete my previous comment if it were possible to do so.

Re: “Lincoln Logues

Shit Ned, you're right! I amended the text accordingly. Thanks for pointing that out.

Re: “This Wanderlust goes nowhere

unfortunately this review initially kept me away from the movie.

via netflix i recently saw it and was surprised how much i liked it. sure it was no godfather, but it was funny and quirky and worth the time spent watching it.
