Fubar isn't in Ybor city. Hopefully everyone knows that.
While I enjoy some of the bands CJH brings each year including the likes of EWF, it is disappointing to not celebrate the jazz category. I think if this is the direction they're going to keep going in, they really should stop the hypocrisy and drop JAZZ for MUSIC in the name to be more honest.
Then again, the majority of 'jazz' artists in the past would fall into the vanilla mainstream 'smooth jazz' label.
Spirit Family Reunion is Sunday's can't-miss act!
I remember when the old jukebox played 45s and you could get Old Style on draft!!
I brought Mary, from Southern Culture on the Skids, there and she jumped up and sang an X song with locals, Johnny Thunders Overdose.
Kyle jumping over the tables and screaming "Interpol" when they walked in.
the Black Lips played there at least twice!
I've have drinks with The Damned, John Doe ( shots of jager; ), Roger Miret and lots of whiskey with Lucero.
oh ya, and how bout the fight with Rev Horton Heat's drummer? I believe LeRoi started that one. which makes me think if the infamous Arcade Inferno show with naked LeRoi drumming.
Thanks to George for taking a chance on the xmas party and the Safehouse Mutant Ninja Pirates on Ice are Bastards for starting it all off ( Jason and Porl, Jeff and Matt)
Too much fun there over the years and last but not least my old pal Walt and his delcious grayhounds. oxox mimi
I've had so many good times at the Emerald, at all hours. I loved the quiet weird day drinking scene and of course the loud music and friend filled nights so much that when I found out I was pregnant five years ago one of my first thoughts was that I was sad because I wouldn't be able to hang out at the Emerald nearly as much. It's still my favorite bar, anywhere. I hope it hangs in there for a long long time so I can resume my patronage on a more profound level once this parental responsibility thing subsides.
Tori is forever the best musician, goddess.
Saw them in 2011 in small venue (1,000 max) and it was a great, loud, bouncy night. Have VIP tix for Chicago; lived & loved the 80s. Lucky me!
Sonic Graffiti, Plastic Pinks, The Gun Hoes all kickass rock n roll bands playing Dont Stop, but yea i do wish there were some more bands with similar spirits playing but will still be a great fest
Don't Stop has a real lack of local punk/hardcore/heavy bands which make up a big part of the regular 600 block scene. I'll still probably go, but I'm not feeling it as much as in past years.
Great concert!!!!. They sound just as good today as they did in the 80's. Really hope they come back to Tampa bag
OHHHH, I CAN'T WAIT!!!
Andy bell is to vocals as Liberachi was to the grand piano... Fabulous talent and both are extraordinary flamboyant as entertainers should be it what make music fun

Paul one was one of the greatest people I ever had the pleasure of knowing. He was an amazing boss and friend, I'll never forget the impact he made on my life...Hell I taught the guy how to shoot a hockey puck in our office while working...I'll miss you Paul.
Tragic. It is tragic when life is taken prematurely or without explanation. It is also a shame that the deceased's untimely passing didn't warrant a proper article with any substantiated facts. It's disgusting that the words "sketchy" and "apparently" are included in a write up about how someone died.
