Re: “Bootleg Bob Dylan at the Lakeland Civic Center

I went to this show, it was Easter Sunday, 1976. I was a 17 year old student at Admiral Farragutt Academy in St. Pete. I talked a buddy of mine into going AWOL with me as we took a cab to the Trailways station in town. Got to Lakeland an hour before the show(tickets were GA). I went all the way to the front and actually had my elbows resting on the stage. I was right in front of Bobby Neuwirth, he had a full bottle of Cuervo Gold that he finished by the end of the night.(show was over 3 hours long-multiple sets) David Mansfield was playing every instrument on the stage, a truly talented musician. T-Bone Burnette and Mick Ronson on guitars, along with Roger McGuinn. Joan Baez did an especially touching version of, "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down," everyone was singing along with her and not a dry eye in the house... Dylan came on stage with his face kind of painted. He ran the huge entourage like a seasoned ringmaster, with everyone taking their cue from him. There was a crackle of electricity in the air, it was pure magic...
Me and my buddy were caught climbing in the fire escape window at 3am and were sent to the "military" disciplinary board the next day. We told them we went to the "Rolling Thunder Review." They thought it was a "dance to meet young ladies..." We got 15 hours knocked off our extra-duty(marching) time because it wasn't a "rock concert..."

Re: “AC/DC rides the "Rock 'n' Roll Train" on new single

ac/dc is rock'n'roll pure n simple haven't heard all of the new cd but hope it tops razorsedge, back n black, highway to hell & dirty deeds, rock has kind of died at the turn of the new century but it still lives especially if these guys continue to rock, my dream to be a roadie on their black ice tour yeah it's good to have dreams isn't it, for those about to rock i salute u, notice how football primetime is rockin ac/dc again i'm sure its in most efforts to support new album and tour, well it's about time i think it would be cool to do a clash mix video with ac/dc's r u ready and hanks ru ready for sum football, i grew up doing angus young air guitar performances in local bars and high school dances, here's to u ac/dc don't change the formula just keep rockin, me i'm gonna 'ride on' outta here peace
