Re: “SBTRKT delivers downtempo dance grooves at Orpheum + more concerts this week

SBTRKT was on my list of DJs I MUST see at UMF this year. I have to admit, however, that I was a little disappointed. The song "Wildfire" could of been WAY more explosive for an audience like Ultra. Not to mention he played at like 3 in the afternoon... which definitely has an affect on everyone. I hope he comes back soon!

Re: “Mat Kearney pops into the Ritz Ybor, SPC Jazz Fest takes over the Music Center + more concerts this week

Thanks, David. The correct info is published in the paper, but I mistakenly put 'Palladium' in this headline. It's corrected now.

Re: “Mat Kearney pops into the Ritz Ybor, SPC Jazz Fest takes over the Music Center + more concerts this week

Just to clarify, the SPC Jazz Festival is at the Music Center at St. Petersburg College located at 6605 Fifth Ave. North in St. Pete. The Palladium is not hosting the jazz festival.

Re: “Billy Corgan to rock Ruth Eckerd

Not only will the basement goths be overjoyed to see their bald-headed god perform at a classic venue, but those who come stoned to the bone can be entertained by the very-talented musicians playing outside before the show. The band that will supercede all sublime royalty is named Burning Tree and are the only means of a light hearted musical break from all the pumpkin smashing. So support local white-boy reggae in the best way possible: stay outside.

Yeah, I don't get you. I'd rather parachute into a pineapple patch than have to sit through this crap. While your description is right on, it turns my stomach.

Re: “Ultimate showcase at Skipper's

if these local scenesters spent more time honing thier chops instead of waiting for you to make a mistake so they can flood your blog like a bunch little kids in the waaambulance, perhaps the talent would be more worthy of reporting here in tampa.

/just sayin'

Re: “Ultimate showcase at Skipper's

"All the info I had at deadline was the tbt* online page...."

Is that actually an EXCUSE, Wade? You actually USED TBT's OLD information to phone-in your pitiful excuse for a...wait, what would you call that piece of crap you posted above? A blurb? A TBT bashing? And you waited until deadline? So here you are, busy dissing TBT, and then you totally admit to velcro-ing their online page to get the line-up for your paragraph o'garbage. CYA, and do your own research next time. But, hey, that's what a real journalist, or someone at TBT, would do; what would you know about it?

Re: “Ultimate showcase at Skipper's

New Granada: Thanks for posting the correct info. All the info I had at deadline was the tbt* online page; Skipper's had yet to note the bands at the time. The tbt* page (see link below) features the 10 artists, info on how to vote for your favorite and reads: "Don't Miss Seeing These Bands Live at the Ultimate Local Music Showcase Saturday, May 10 at Skipper's Smokehouse."

Here's the link:

Re: “Ultimate showcase at Skipper's

Wade = Hack.
I wouldn't hire you to write for the flyer after some of dumbassdidness you have contributed to. Hey Wade, out any other gay / lesbian band members lately? Get any bands from New York confused with our local bands? Bwahahaha!...douche. You have become quite the laughing stock of the bay area. Sir, you have been phoning your work in lately and many sharks have been jumped. Quit already, let someone whom actually has passion and is not so gin soaked to take the helm (altho I did bump into your "very drunk" ghost writer, well that's what she said)
Maybe Creative Loafing should decide if they are in the party throwing business or putting out a good local publication where their people actually do alittle research before submitting a story/ review / article but as I understand, that's kinda hard to do hung over. I only read the publication on the toilet but lately I cant decide what smells worse, the down spiraling quality of your fish wrapper or my poo. Hell, the parakeet wont even poo on it because it finds it redundant!!!
