Fascinating. I just did a post of my Top Ten Vacation movies. Then I googled the term and found your post. What is most interesting is that we don't have a single movie in common! I guess there are a lot of movies out there for every taste! You can view my post at: http://lancearoundorlando.com/2010/05/21/top-ten-vacation-movies/
this reminds me of my dad tthank you jeff.

I totally agree with everything you are saying. I think it is a great movie and it really shows off Kristen and Dakota's acting abilities. I think Kristen nails Joan Jett completely. I agree it is a must see movie. Thank you for your comment and review of the movie!
Nice review! Everyone has lambasted Kristen Stewart for her performance in Twilight, so it is good to see her showing everyone she has what it takes. The previews make me really uncomfortable around Dakota Fanning, (which seems like the point, which is awesome) as it wasn't that long ago, she was that stupid little girl from War of the Worlds. Amazing what a couple of years does.
I don't think there is any non-creapy way of saying this, so, whatever; I guess I'll have to go see this, then!
Did the reviewer read the book? Seems not.
You forgot the tunes even as you were listening to them? Look, if you were expecting Chicago 2.0 or 8 1/2 with music, THAT's where you went wrong. The numbers take place on a soundstage because they are fantasies and dreams. They are unrealistic. Therefore the stagieness works. I don't know why critics even bother, when a story is simple and the film entertaining they shit all over it. But if its dull, sluggish, depressing and takes a psychoanalyst to tell you what the hell's going on then its considered a masterpiece. What the fuck has the industry come to?!?!?!?!?!
i do not care whether a person is gay or not, closeted or out, but what i do HATE is for someone in power to use that power to legislate against any group - gay,
bi or straight.
afterall, doesn't the constitution guarrantee: "that all men(and women!) are created equally, endowed by their creator with the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness"?
didn't we once have laws against blacks, irish, chinese and other groups, then passed liegislation to make any discrimination illegal and punished to the fullest by the law?
why then, is it the government's and politicians have the right to discriminate against the GLBT community? don't GLBTs bleed like anyone else if beaten or shot? don't most live quiet lives of desperation and fear - attempting to fit in only to have any exposure
bring them shame and pain?
is this the greatest country in the world or are we trying to imitate the regressive third world countries and dictators that the press and government condemn? if it is the former, let's GROW UP and STOP HATING, both the GLBTs and ourselves for failing to STOP BIGOTRY hiding behind some Right wing/Biblical rhetoric/ideology that makes absolutely NO SENSE in this BRAVE NEW WORLD!!
Totally disagree. I thought both plots were equally charming, and that Amy Adams did a fine job. This review was way too harsh for such an enjoyable movie.
It's too bad a movie critic has to write his own version of a script into a review. I know immediately preconceived notions will abound and Mr. Warner doesn't let me down. He misses the ENTIRE gist of the movie and fluffs along.
