Very TRUE!!!! \m/
Tim Schock has a well grounded understanding of transportation. Light rail will not serve most of the county and without a doubt will overrun projected costs, as all rail projects end up doing. The operating costs for established rail will be another burden on the taxpayer, regardless of whether it is used or not. The county's proposal is nebulous with regard to how much money will be spent on each respective segment of transportation (rail, road, bus, etc). And when plans are vague, watch out, because this commission has a way of diverting funds to serve their own pet projects. Schock is a breath of fresh air and would be a smart move for Republicans if he beats the old school, special interest lap dog that Higginbotham is.
I'm voting for Adrian Wyllie for Governor of Florida.
too bad heard the landlords are selling the plaza to PDQ
I'm an old friend of Bruce's. Before he was helping the homeless, he was helping youth practically for free on his dime on many occasions. For all the skeptics out there, doing God's work cost money.
it's so when they're losing they can look in the excuse book that the bucs use and say we're a new team, new players and it'll take time to make it all come together
seems to work for decades
What a beautifully written article, Megan. Really gets to the healing behind the art. It obviously struck a chord with the community. We had a wonderful turn out for the opening and the teens actually sold two murals. Hope this trend continues because the other 6 are really special too. Thank you for sharing our story, Sigrid
I too would like to speak with Mitch Perry, I as well, have a brother currently housed at the RMC facility in Lake Butler, Florida and if something isn't done immediately then I'm afraid he too will become a victim to this money hungry company and die very soon with cancer, if I can't weed thru the political paper trail and speak with someone. Mr Al Kahmi if you read this...Please contact me @ firstname.lastname@example.org my name is Richard
"None of the Above Vote" works great. It's great we have that choice when confronted with these two losers, Scott and Crist. Scott, who took the 5th in Medicare Fraud, has stopped the consumer protections of the Florida Insurance Commission to approve Insurance Company (Blue Cross of Florida) rate increases. I kid you not.
Crist teamed up with Blue Cross to offer the dangerous Cover Florida insurance program that had a maximum annual benefit of $25,000. You can spend $25,000 in 2 days with cancer. Charlie is lost in the stone age. An insurance agent couldn't sleep at night peddling a $25,000 annual benefit for health insurance but Charlie said that this is ROBUST benefits, I kid you not.
Is healthcare the kind of issue you were talking about?
Vote Sanity / Vote Libertarian / Vote Wyllie
I would like to speak with the person who wrote this article.
This sounds like my dads scenario, accept my dad did not make it out, he died May 24!!
SO ANGRY FLORIDA GOV DOES NOT DESERVE TO SLEEP! ALLOWING HUMANS TO BE TREATED IN THIS MANNER.
I hope this review is a joke!! I happened upon this review. While surfing the web. I have to say Tacoson has the best authentic Mexican food in Tampa Bay! I have lunch at the place at least twice a week. Whoever wrote this must have been on drugs that day. And being concerned if they would succeed in Tampa Bay.... Well I know every time I go there during lunch there's a line to the door and every seat is taken. What a poor review the writer should be ashamed of himself!
Thank you for posting this information. I started to read Yoani Sanchez's blog and thought, "This is real. These are passionate thoughts from someone who really lives this life, not just a spectator or distant activist." I, too, believe it is inhumane and ineffective anymore to NOT lift the embargo. Just as in other volatile countries where people are not encouraged to improve their lives towards a better society where they can do good in the world, we are not helping Cubans to live a life of opportunity. Quite the antithesis. Perhaps an idealistic perspective, but why not?? Sometimes idealism is the perfect direction to trek.
(I am a cab driver with an opinion about this) On the surface, my job looks like a simple job: People call or hail for a cab, I pick them up, and take them where there going. However, there is more too it then that. That person is only able to get into my cab because of the business structure and climate that has been established by regulatory agencies. Without them, it would be pure chaos. Uber and Lyft are determined to operate illegally in Hillsborough County and threaten the community as a whole. Chaos is just a nice way of putting it.
Beneath this simple picture of giving people rides, there are major concerns. There are issues of competition, meter rates, flat rates, free shuttle services, issuing permits (Uber Lyft have none), condition of vehicles, the background of drivers, the health and safety of the community as protected by the Hillsborough County Public Transportation Commission. Adequate insurance becomes a major concern. Even the interdepartmental cooperation between companies and the municipality during major events have worked for the communities advantage. There is no cooperation with the illegal ride share people.
In recent years, we have hosted a Super Bowl and a Republican Convention. The logistics of these events were worked out between the companies and the TPC. All of this aided the flow of the events. Eliminating the TPC or allowing Uber and Lyft to operate as outlaws would be detrimental to the community.
Folks, it all comes down to recognition. We need to spread the word about Adrian Wyllie in order for him to win. I am very much behind the “super brochure” plan, so much so, that I personally have completely covered my entire precinct where I live. I think it’s the most effective and economical way to bring the super voters, attention to Adrian Wyllie. Most don’t even know there is another choice other than scott/crist. It only cost me $47.50 to cover my precinct. I urge others to do the same. If you want him elected, you must do something to make it happen. Just your one vote will not do it. Take advantage of this great opportunity we have to get a Libertarian in the Governor’s office. We (Floridians) desperately need this. I beg you to do what you can.
Mr. Joe Scarborough,
How many KIDS did the US kill in Iraq and Afghanistan???
Did you see the pics of massive weapon caches in the UN schools?
Did you see the video's of missiles being fired at Israel from within schools, hospitals etc?
Do you believe in self defense???
What would the USA do if 2000 rockets were fired on DC or NY???
Can it be, that in the above mentioned cases, pictures were not shown all over the press?
Selective outrage? Is there a double standard?
If Israel would react the way we reacted – they would do much much more!
Do you randomly pic people, do you visit around the world and show your videos?
Scott's Chief of Staff wasn't an employee of AAF sister company Parallel Infrastructure, he was the CEO! This thing is as dirty as it gets. And I'm a Republican.
Where is Creative Loafing in the coverage of a real independent candidate? Fahrid Khavari is a enconomist and this is just one of his proposals:"It doesn’t cost to do this, it pays. The economic activity will add thousands of good jobs. Politicians serving big money have delayed restoring the Everglades and protecting our rivers and estuaries too long. They get more money, we get dead manatees. We can fix this at no net cost to the taxpayers and make money doing it" Come on Creative Loafing open your eyes!!!
Wow~! I didn't vote for the congressman but, I give him credit for listening to his constituents, and making a most difficult decision. It struck me that this man who is a Republican, is taking a very controversial step but, with straight forward conviction. I like these words in particular.'Perhaps the greatest teaching of the Christ in whom I put my faith is that of love. We are called upon to demonstrate love for our fellow man, each of us of whom are created in God’s image. I hope to demonstrate that spirit each and every day as I try to honor the remarkable life opportunity and privilege that our community has entrusted with me, the honor and responsibility to represent Pinellas County in the U.S. House of Representatives."
Thanks, Leilani! Gonna be an awesome year for New Granada.....more news to come!
