Immigration on Sunday morning talk goes nowhere
Speaking up for the Obama administration, and their controversial decision to sue Arizona over the illegal immigration bill, was Attorney General Eric Holder, speaking on CBS' Face The Nation from Aspen. The Justice Department's lawsuit challenges Arizona having the authority to make immigration laws at all, but does not go where other suits filed have gone - that is, that it will lead to racial profiling. But Holder indicated that case can't be made yet, because the law hasn't taken affect, but his people will be watching closely for any excesses and ready to go back to Court if they find them. McCollum publicly gripes after he's excluded from AG Eric Holder's from Deepwater Horizon response meeting
Oh, and there's that whole lawsuit thing, where Florida's Attorney General is leading the way in trying to kill President Obama's signature domestic achievement, the health care reform legislation. McCollum is now leading a group that includes over 20 states trying to thwart the legislation in court, challenging its constitutionality by mandating that individuals must buy health insurance or pay a fine.

Responding to critics, Eric Holder says Miranda protections should be eased for terror suspects
For the first time, Holder said the administration was looking at some "flexibility", on giving terrorists Miranda rights, saying, " The public safety exception comes from a case called Quarles that dealt with a -- the robbery of a -- of a supermarket. We're now dealing with international terrorism. And if we are going to have a system that is capable of dealing in a public safety context with this new threat, I think we have to give serious consideration to at least modifying that public safety exception. "

GOP ready to play politics of terror card in 2010 elections
Alexander is hardly considered a bomb-thrower, and the Obama administration, with its backing away of holding a trial in New York City for alleged 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, is looking on the defensive on the terror issue, certainly in regards to what they did (or didn't do) to make sure that New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg, Police Chief Ray Kelly, and others in New York were on board for hosting a trial.
