Any number of great support acts like The Roots, Pixies, or The Raconteurs would've made stronger headliners than The Killers, but Orlando Calling did a lot of other things right.
The Strokes lead singer Julian Casablancas Phrazes for the Young cd review. He has replaced all your expectations with synths straight out of 1984. An album always changing and bouncing and moving quickly, slipping across pop and soul spectrums within a few seconds, overlapping and folding decades into 8 songs that run just under 40 minutes.
What a great way to memorialize the decade-defining album that changed the musical landscape for the remainder of the 1980's. Casual fans and die-hards alike would be wise to treat themselves to this tasteful nod to 1982's "Rio".
