White House recalibrates: Axelrod now puts focus on lack of disclosure when it comes to conservative groups' donations
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce has said it will spend as much as $75 million in this election cycle, which, according to the Wall Street Journal, combined with the amounts spent by other conservative groups, amounts to over $300 million, vs $100 million being spent by Democratic groups like unions directly on ads.

There were plenty of Republicans on the chat shows to rebuke what they called the White House spin, none more vitriolic than South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham, already getting considerable heat from his GOP brethren for deigning to even to talk to administration and other Democrats to try to push along issues like what to do with Gitmo and immigration reform.

The spin is in overdrive on the meaning of Tuesday's election results
his all means for the Obama Administration? Those numbers on how independents voted has to be somewhat troubling for the White House, despite White House Advisor David Axelrod's comments that national elections are where the President's policies will be voted on, not state races. One wonders how the results might influence some Blue Dog Democrats in the House or centrist Senators, especially after it's been reported that the debate on health care reform is likely to last until next year

Mainstream media questions Obama's toughness
On ABC's "This Week" program, the president's alleged lack of toughness was the first topic that George Stephanopoulos brought up with in his sitdown with White House advisor David Axelrod. Axelrod sidestepped the question, but maybe the President is getting the message. In his Saturday radio/YouTube address, Obama went off in unusually strong terms against the insurance industry, accusing it of using "deceptive and dishonest ads, and actually threatened to rid the industry of its exemption from federal antitrust laws.
