The locally enriching and far-reaching Tampa Bay Arts and Education Network hosts its annual independent film awards, screenings and workshops Thurs.-Sat., Sept. 6-8, at the Wyndham Westshore in Tampa. Even more brilliant and bizarre offerings can be enjoyed, along with some surprise treats. Screenings Thursday are 7:45-9:15 p.m. and include indie feature Side by Side and a slew of animation and shorts by students and others. A VIP reception will be held but is by invitation only. Highlights on Friday include the student animation Prima Maestra at 4 p.m and indie animation feature The Lady of Names. From 6 to 7:30 p.m., see Nothing Like Chocolate, a documentary, along with a student doc and animation. At 7:45 p.m., Il Cacciatore Di Anatre (The Duck Hunter), winner of indie feature and foreign film screens. pARACRIMESOFTHEFLUXDRIODs films midnight-1:15 a.m. On Saturday, The House of Ghosts, a feature film will be shown 11 a.m. along with several animations and shorts. In addition workshops and a tour of Tampa Digital Studios will be offered (reservations required).
