Spirited celebration: Cocktail recipes for National Tequila Day

Thursday night, Gaspar's Grotto held its premium tequila festival in honor of National Tequila Day, but now that the holiday's officially arrived, the spirited celebration must continue. These six tequila cocktail recipes from the CL archives will do the trick.

Food Network Magazine inspired CL to include this caliente recipe in our spicy-meets-sparkling post on margaritas a few years ago. This tasty variation on the popular drink highlights orange liqueur, jalapeño and, of course, a salted rim.

Not just for shooters and margaritas, as declared in 2011, this sweet and tangy Ruby Partida cocktail involves shaking the ingredients to blended perfection.

Try out this zesty 'rita tonight as you raise your glass to agave spirits alongside friends and lots of booze. Don't forget the sour mix.

Like cider? You'll love this Them Apples tequila drink. Enjoy it now, and bookmark the recipe for when fall rolls around.

With pomegranate juice, silver tequila and triple sec, this Hearts of Pom recipe puts gives dreamy, heart-healthy twist on something classic. Also featured in the post is a tequila cocktail that calls for piña colada mix, orange juice and cinnamon.
